Type of Treatment

  1. Kinesio Taping for Lymphedema  -- The Kinesio® Taping Method is a therapeutic taping technique offering patients' musculo-skeletal support, by providing a rehabilitative effect when swelling is reduced in the affected area and movement is increased.  Kinesio® Tex Tape can also alleviate pain associated with Lymphedema and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically "lifting" the skin to form convolutions in the skin, and thus increase the interstitial space under the skin and allowing fluid to move more effectively out of the affected area.

    Kinesio Taping

  2. Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a specific gentle technique increasing re-absorption without increasing filtration. the application of MLD decongest the lymphatic channels that are still functioning properly, thus enabling the fluid being decongested from the affected area or limb to be reabsorbed back into the circulatory system. It is the basic treatmnet for Lymhedema. MLD maintains the stability of long-term results by creating new lymph anastatmosis or lymph pathways.
  3. Compression Bandaging of the limb or affected area follows each MLD session. Bandaging is one of the skills taught to each patient during treatment.
  4. Exercises (to be performed while the limb or affected area is bandaged) are prescribed for every patient.
