To achieve this goal, our team of therapists are professionally trained and knowledgeable about Lymphedema. All our therapists are Certified in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and have numerous years of experience in providing the treatment. Our support staff can assist you and your family with information and resources as needed.
Lymphedema therapy is usually in two phases. The first phase is more intensive, where the goal of therapy is to reduce the size of your limb or the area that is swollen. In this phase we also provide extensive education in self-care management. Once the swelling has reduced in size, the second phase or maintenance phase is implemented and this phase is more geared toward preventing the swelling from returning.
When you come into our office, you will be given a packet of information that gives you a detailed description of each phase of therapy. The treatment is involved and we do ask for a commitment on your part, to ensure that the best possible results are achieved.
